iPhone OS 4.0

Now because this is not out for the consumer yet I will be talking about my opinion and not the specifications.
1: Most anticipated was wallpaper behind the icons. Good thing we got that or else I would have disappointed in Apple.
2: Multi-tasking is now precent and this is great. I actually jail-broke my iTouch because I wanted multi-tasking so bad. But now it is here and that satisfies me.
3: Folders: Now you can hold all your favorite apps and not have to delete them because you can now exceed 2,000 apps instead of 180 or what ever it was before.
4: There are many other things included but I am not going in depth. These include: Universal inbox, threaded messaging, no more Apple servers, universal online game playing, iAds, ect.
Now here is the big question: what i-devices will it be for.
Well, all of them but only the iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 3rd generation will get the key feature, multi-tasking.

iPad

Now you may be thinking that I have already talked about the iPad, but than I saw one. Yes I got to hold one and it was SOOOO cool. I admit I want one. Except the fact of the matter is that I don't have the money right now.
Now I am defiantly considering the second generation because it will natively run the iPhone 4.0 software. Which was recently unveiled but I will go further in depth with that in a later post.
But it is really cool so I say if you have the money, buy it because it is great from what I have seen so far.

3D TV's

If you followed the news coverage at CES (Consumer Electronic Show) than you would know that the theme you could say was 3D. Many people are amazed at how 3D works and thought it would be good to bring it to the HDTV's. And because everything these days seems to be in 3D like all the new movies coming out, why not make a TV that can show that content. So of you have ever been to a movie theater that showed a movie in 3D you would know that some of the images seem to pop out at you. But really because all your vision is consumed by the screen it pops, but if you have ever been in the back row it shows more depth that popping images.
So I decided to go to Best Buy and check out these "amazing TV's" and when I got there I saw nothing in 3D or even a TV in 3D. So I asked worker where they were and he lead my to a TV that clearly was not in 3D so he grabbed the remote and switched it to 3D. It was a nice feature to be able to flip between 3D and 2D. So I put on the glasses that cost about $125 a piece! I notice at that second that because my whole vision was not consumed by the screen when things tried to pop out it came at me and instead of looking like it would touch me it seemed to look like I was watching through a window and the image crashed against the glass of the screen. So in a simpler sentence it showed extreme depth but nothing really popped out at me. I really enjoyed it though. It was very cool.
Over all this is a cool concept but I don't think anyone would want to pay $800 more for the 3D function on top of $125 for the glasses. But if you are looking for a new TV I can tell you that if you have some extra cash go for it and buy these 3D TV's

Xbox 360

I finally bought an Xbox 360 and it is the best.
When I compare the the Xbox 360 graphics to the PS3, its not even a competition. The Xbox 360 graphics are just amazing, and with the 48 shader pipelines for the GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) and can process high detail and sharp textures. While the PS3 has 24 for one type and 6 for another. The place that is the biggest difference is the CPU (Central Processing Unit.) While the Xbox 360 rocks three 3.06 Ghz cores the PS3 has one core but has a cell feature that the core sends information to, to process the code.
Also the online experience of the Xbox 360 just works really good while the PS3 has some work to do.
One thing that the PS3 has is built in wifi and blue ray capabilities. Because of the blue ray the PS3 has less code and video decompression because a blue ray disc can hold 5X more information, but the Xbox 360 does a really good job of reading the code from the disc. I really wish that the Xbox 360 had built in Wifi but I guess Microsoft just forgot this time around. Also I really hate that Xbox Live costs money, because most of the content associated with Live costs money so why charge for the service.
Over all because I have only had the Xbox 360 for a short time I can't really compare yet but from what I can see now it looks better than the PS3. I also have asked some of my friends that have both the Xbox 360 and the PS3, they all said that they play the Xbox 360 more and that the Xbox 360 is more of a game console. While the PS3 is more of a media center because of the blue ray player.

SPRING BREAK

Today (while on spring break) I ate at the best restaurant ever. It was called Benjamin's and it is in Galena, Illinois. It was not only an authentic Irish bar and grill but the food was amazing. If you are ever around the area I completely recommend this place. It was a VERY good eating and socializing experience.

New Mac Line Up and Upgrades Coming?

I am going to just list what the new Macs should include or at least what most people are expecting. I will start by saying that all the Macs should get a price cut because that is the major reasons some people don't buy Macs. Simply because they are not as affordable. For example the iPad cost about $250 for parts and about $10 dollars for shipping, and yet they retail the device for $500. If that is the case for all Apple products I would be disappointed, even though ever Mac I own has most defiantly been worth every cent. Now for the predictions for the Macs:

Macbook Pro:The first thing I would like to see is a bigger hard drive. At 500GBs at max doesn't seem to cut it (for me.) Next thing that is HIGHLY anticipated is Intel Quad-Core processors. This would be very nice for at LEAST the highest end model but if all models got it that wold be great on Apples part. And finally a nice price cut would be amazing.

Macbook Air: The Air has lost its title for the thinnest laptop and I hope it can regain it. Thought the laptop that beat it the Adalmo XPS is very nice and interesting. Also a needed upgrade is the RAM. It can currently only be upgraded to 2GBs of RAM. That could go up. Next a hard drive boost would be great. But you have to appreciate that it is so thin therefore not a huge deal. Next a price cut. Pretty please Apple! I could finally own that thin laptop if you drop the price!

Mac Mini: Hope to see Quad-Core and a hard drive boost. Not much I can say about this device because it really falls under a new category for computer, therefore you cant say it is lacking because you can compare it to other computers. Its a whole new category. Price cut too just because.

Mac Pro: The power house of the Apple computers. With an 8-Core model and amazing specs! The only 2 improvements could be the Core i9 processor chip or even up to a 12-Core model. A LARGE price cut as well would be amazing and would be GREATLY appreciated.

These computers listed are the Macs that should be updated soon and the regular Macbook and the iMac were updated during the fall so if you need a computer go for the iMac and the Macbook but the others above will be updated soon so wait wait wait because you could buy one and the next day the new model comes out. Be careful Mac buyers because there are amazing things coming but we don't know for sure.

Leave a Comment and Help Me Decide!!

There are a few items in the market that I am interested in buying.
One: The xBox 360 or the PS3. I have asked my friends but they all vote out to a tie.
Two: The Motorola Droid or the Nexus One. Dare I wait for the Google phone or should I just go ahead and buy the Droid?
Three: iPad, wait for it to come out and see how it is or not even waste my time on it. It looks like a good device though.
Thats is so far but I want you all to leave a comment and tell me what it invest in. What did I leave out?
Thanks

iPad/ iPhone/ iPod Touch STILL NO FLASH

This is going to be a quick post about flash and why the iPhone and other Apple Mobil device don't have it.
Personally I think Apple and Adobe ( manufacture of Adobe Flash) are enemies. If you look at it... Adobe has Photoshop and that for those who don't know is a really professional photo editor. Than Apple has the photo editor Aperture. I have not used Aperture but from what I hear it is not a novice application. Because of these two apps that might be a reason.
Apple claims that flash would kill the battery life. Be that as it may I would like the option. The iPad though. What the heck. Still no flash support. As seen in the Apple Keynote introducing the iPad Steve Jobs went to the New York Times web site and there was a video that depended on flash for it to play. Instead of a video there was the universal blue lego icon with the question mark on it. I think this was a silent way of showing the world that the iPad will not have Flash support and that it was intended.
This still interests me and it has sense the iPhone came out. And now with the Nexus One by Google is out and sporting its Flash Capabilities it makes Apple look bad. I assure you that in the future there will be Flash though.

iPad Initial Impressions

iPad Initial Impressions

The good: The design and hardware is the best part of the iPad. With them amazing Apple A4 processor chip powering the iPad this device is a work horse (for a device) Also the nice aluminum backing is a great implementation and really adds to the great talk about the quality of Apple designs. And even the giant piece of glass over the touch screen is pulled of very nicely. Apple continues to thrive especially on the great quality and design of their products. Also the default or stock apps (like calender, notes, contacts, etc.) And the iBook app is nice. But because I have yet to touch the iPad I can't judge to much. Were nicely redesigned to fit the screen and they bring a few new features. Now for the home screen. The only good thing about it is that you can now have wallpaper behind the apps. Umm Apple it took you 3 years to figure out that thats what people wanted and you put it in the wrong device. But I am glad the iPad has it. But the iPhone still lacks the wallpaper and any multi-tasking feature..... which brings me to the bad.

The bad: The BIGGEST let down for me is the lack of multi-tasking. A device in between a Macbook and any Iphone has to at least have some sort of multi-tasking. I don't care how they do it but it needs to happen. And again with the statement "between a macbook and an iphone" let me tell you when you average the all the capacities of the Macbooks you get 276 gbytes. Now that is all the Air Regular and Pro models averaged. The iPhone capacities averaged is 24 gbytes. If they want a device in the middle of the 2 it should be around 150 gbytes. The iPad falls short by over 100 gbytes and let me tell you, I can't hold all my stuff on that. Also this is not a big deal but the home screen icons are to small and the lack of widgets on the home screen and the lack of difference over all of the home screen really makes me mad. Not a huge deal though. A revamped lock-screen and notification system would be nice as well.

My final thought:
I think that this is a really great product but unfortunately Apple was a little late with the iPad. If Apple could have presented this idea t least 1 year ago Apple would be on top with the tablet business. Other wise this looks like a really great start and I am almost positive the Apple will have software updates for the iPad to help take advantage of the processor. This is a product that has a lot of potential and I know will eventually hit the sweet spot and people will find a feature good enough to buy this. As of now though I would not purchase this device. Because the next generation will bring bigger and better things.
Windows 7 VS. Mac OS X Snow Leopard..
There is a big fight between Mac and PC but i can find no other reason for it that the OS ( operating system ) is the biggest reason for it.
With windows 7 you get some software updates and it is supposed to run better than Vista did. Well while I used it I found the biggest difference to be just eye-candy. Windows is still sporting the clean glass look with a revamped task-bar. The task-bar now has a feature called "arrow". Also the "appear" feature when you open and close applications is nice. Its hard to explain what that is but it just makes it look smoother and nicer than just having a giant window pop up, it appears. Also with the active screen sides maximizing and half sizing windows is a breeze. Its a luxury, not the smoothest thing though. Windows continues with the gadgets at the side of the screen. (Much like Mac's widgets) And the new search is much better than before.(Much like Mac's spotlight) I have to say that Microsoft has really done a good job at copying some of Mac's features like widgets, spotlight, expose, dock feature. No longer is the "expose" feature in windows anymore, but it was there and people did notice the similarities.
Also Windows 7 mobile was recently released and it looks much like the Zune HD's GUI. And as long as the new mobile has some form of multi-tasking it beats the iPhone OS just because of that one feature. But if we want to talk multi-tasking we should mention the master. The Palm line up of the Pixi(plus) and the Pre(plus). With the deck of cards based system.

Mac OS X Snow Leopard is still the reigning winner of the famous CNET prize fight, and it is only a 25$ upgrade vs. windows with the lowest at like 125$. Apple still rocks with the amazing and innovative features of Expose and Spaces! And with the amazing video editing platform you cant go wrong with a Mac especially if you are a video editor. Though there were not a ton of visual changes besides the new stacks and Expose the system was updated. I wish there was more visual changes though because who doesn't like new cool changes to discover rather than know already. I believe though that the reason it was so cheap they wanted everyone to buy it so for the next OS the computer has the software to install and support the new OS believed to be called "Loin" Wow that sounds cool. But I mean what's better than a Snow Leopard.
The iPhone OS still has a lot of work to be done on it like more customizations and moving wallpapers, And of coarse going to Verizon. If you are like me where At&t service really sucks we could use Verizon. We have yet to see any multitasking feature. Get this, My phone the Chocolate 3 could Copy and Paste before the iPhone could. Wow, the iphone GUI was revolutionary at first but Palm and Android beats it by quite a bit, though navigation is really simple and easy to use.

Over all Mac OS X Snow Leopard beats windows 7 but the mobile OS's are flipped when Mobile Windows 7 took the lead because of Apple's implementation of multi-tasking was lacking.
